Automation prototype

One product. Different sellers. Prices in one place.

The monitor reads EANs from Airtable, finds products on Allegro and compares offers from the “Ten produkt od innych sprzedających” section (the same product from other sellers). The lowest price among the retrieved offers and the check date are saved in the product register.

Another product, another manual check

Comparing prices means finding the same product from different sellers, checking the offers and copying the result into a table. When the product list needs checking again, the same tasks repeat. This project shows how to connect data retrieval with updates to an existing register.

From an EAN to a price in Airtable

Airtable remains the place to work with the product list. The automation retrieves data from Allegro, compares prices and saves the result in the same records.

  1. Read the product list

The process reads EANs from Airtable. It skips empty or invalid codes and searches each repeated EAN only once.

  2. Offers for the same product

The EAN is used to find the product on Allegro. Offers from the “Ten produkt od innych sprzedających” section are retrieved for comparison.

  3. Compare retrieved prices

The analysis groups results by EAN and currency, then finds the lowest price among valid offers.

  4. Save the price and date

The lowest retrieved PLN price and analysis date are written to the matching Airtable record. Repeated EANs receive the result in every retrieved row for that product.

The result returns to your register

The process updates the price and date fields in Airtable. Retrieval, analysis and writing are separate tasks: analysis or writing can be retried without fetching the data again. It demonstrates data retrieval, analysis and register updates connected in one process.

Scope of the prototype shown

  • The current version reads the first three Airtable rows and retrieves up to 100 offers per EAN.
  • The result is the lowest product price among retrieved PLN offers. It does not guarantee the lowest price across Allegro or the lowest total including delivery.
  • When no valid PLN offer is found, the previous Airtable price and date remain unchanged.
  • Run frequency depends on the need and retrieval cost.
